As you’ll already know if you read my How I Am Improving My Lifestyle post, I haven’t quite hacked the morning AND evening skincare routine yet. Right now, I cleanse and prep my face once a day. (Bad, I know!) Depending on when I shower, or when I have time, this could either be morning or evening. I was going to name this post my “night-time skincare routine” but considering that, I thought it wasn’t an accurate title. Instead, today, I’ll be taking you through my current skincare routine!
If there is one thing you guys don’t know about me yet, it is probably that I love true crime. I’ve watched many documentaries and TV shows on true crime cases, read up on cases and theories, and now I’m starting to get into podcasts. Whenever I’m studying, blogging or doing anything around the house, I love to listen to or watch YouTube videos. I just don’t like silence – even when I am going to bed, I have to put on something so I’m not trying to fall asleep in silence. There’s only so many videos in my subscription box, however, and I’ve heard about true crime podcasts before – so, I decided that I’d try out listening to them. Today, I’ll be sharing with you my top 3 true crime podcasts so far!

Hi everyone, I’m back with the Book Blogger A-Z survey today. I saw this on Evie Jayne’s blog, and decided that even though I am not a dedicated book blogger, that I’d love to do this tag. If you haven’t already, you should pop over to Evie’s blog and give her some love! (Also I loved the way she highlighted the first letter with a colour, so I also took inspiration from that – I hope you don’t mind, Evie!)
I used to read a lot when I was a kid/teenager (more Harry Potter fan fiction than I’d care to admit when I was a teen) and I’m trying to get myself back into reading, as it was a huge passion of mine. I still love it; I just don’t do it often enough!
Now, let’s get into it!
I’ve always loved reading or watching “What’s in My Bag” posts and videos – I’m a bit nosy and love seeing what other people carry around with them. I always knew that at some point I would write my own post since I started my blog. However, I had so many ideas that I never got around to it, until now! Since I’m heading back to University for my final year this month, I thought it would be perfect to show you what’s in my University bag.
You get to have a nosy around my day-to-day Uni bag, while also seeing what are the absolute essentials after 3 years of learning what I need and what I don’t need. Whenever you start a new journey, whether it’s traveling, or moving, or going to University, sometimes you feel tempted to over-pack. I certainly do! I always think that it is better to be over-prepared, than find yourself stuck for something. Over the years I have found that really, you don’t need to take as much to Uni as you may think.
Lately I haven’t been feeling great about myself. Over the past year, I have put on weight and while it hasn’t been a major weight gain, it has been obvious to myself and the people around me. I stopped exercising, stopped eating well and I was eating at all the wrong times, too. By that I mean, I would often skip meals and when I felt hungry, I would snack instead of have a proper meal. Biscuits became my one true love! So, I’ve made improving my lifestyle my next mission.
Not only has my diet and weight been an issue, but I’ve let my skincare routine fall by the wayside. I let my skin get bad before I realise I should be doing something about it, and then I take care of my skin to fix the issues. But once I’ve done this, I let the routine fall again.
I’m also terrible at looking after my mental health, too! Just like my skincare routine, I let it fall into a deep, dark hole of despair before I realise – oh, I should do something about this. I either apply for counselling at my University, tell my parents or I’m so deep in the mess I have created, that I sit there stewing in it, assuming there is no other way out.
I’m now in my final year of University, and I’m sick of how low I let myself get. I’m completely done with not taking a hold of my life, and forcing myself to improve it rather than sitting there, wishing that it would get better without me having to put the effort in. I know I am lazy, and I know that I hold myself back. And I know that only I can change how I live my life.
Before, I would assume that if I couldn’t get myself into a better routine instantly, it would never happen. I think I have grown to realise that success isn’t instant. Success is baby steps. You wouldn’t go to the gym and try and lift your entire body weight the first time, would you? So why assume that everything else is going to come to you that instantly?
