This last week I went to a themed cocktail bar in Edinburgh, run by the Pop-Up Geeks. Every couple of months they change the theme of the bar, and this time round it was a Harry Potter cocktail bar!
I took so many photos (and had quite a few cocktails) but it was very dark, and I was using my phone rather than my camera, so you’ll have to excuse the quality. The cocktails we’re delicious, and they had so many different flavours and drinks to offer, and at points they would play songs from the soundtrack, which just added to the amazing experience.
First off, as you walk in, the bar is decorated with letters hanging from the ceiling and framed declarations (like Umbridge’s) on the walls. The space itself is very small, but cosy.
Last Christmas, I received a Polaroid printer as a gift from my parents. I’ve wanted a Polaroid camera for years, but my parents thought that a the printer was a bit more up-to-date and a cool gadget to get me, and I totally agree! (Although, I’m sure at some point in the future I will buy a camera as well.)
It works via bluetooth – there is NO ink involved! You download an app on your phone and through that you can print off any photo on your camera roll! This is great as you can pick a good photo and know that it’s going to print out nice, rather than take a picture on a Polaroid camera and only realise once it was printed out, that the lighting is wrong or you look a bit crazy.

Hi guys! A while ago I was watching a YouTube video and a woman (I’m sorry, I can’t remember your channel name / find it again!) with red hair similar to mine tried out the Superdrug Pick & Mix non-permanent hair colour, and said that she had some success with it. I wanted to give dyeing my naturally red hair a shot!
I’ve always wanted to dye my hair bright colours, especially a peachy pink as of late. Having red hair stops me before I can even get started. Not only would I have to bleach the shit out of my hair, but then if I put dye on top of that it wouldn’t stick to my hair as well as other hair types. I’ve bleached parts of my hair and put permanent dye on top before, and the dye fades so fast. It basically washes out (not instantly of course, but quicker than it usually should).
However, after hearing this woman’s review, I wanted to try it out for myself and see if I could get a slight pink colour to my hair!
It’s coming up to exam season for me. I’ve just finished my lectures for this semester, and I’m now officially in study leave, and my first exam is in 3 weeks, and PANIC. So, in true procrastination fashion, I’m writing a blog post instead of attending to my massive list to-do list. To try and keep myself in the study mindset, I thought I’d gather all my study essentials together and talk you through them.
Whether you just love stationery or you’re about to sit exams yourself – hopefully you’ll enjoy this post!
