I’ve never done a makeup look on my blog before, nor am I a makeup guru by any means. I enjoy experimenting with my eyeshadow when I wear it but that isn’t often! I’m either bare face or everything but eyeshadow – it’s a lot quicker when I’m going to Uni to leave out that stage completely. It’s a shame because I think it’s the best part of doing your makeup!
When I was approached by FalseEyelashes.co.uk to review some of their eyelashes, I jumped at the chance! I thought it would be a perfect way to integrate makeup looks onto my blog, and give me an excuse to play around with eyeshadow again. In the end I decided to go for a pink glittery makeup look, as I love defying the old “redheads can’t wear pink” mindset – I think it’s a gorgeous colour for redheads, and I hope you like it, too!
I wish I could point out exactly what pink shades I used in my eyeshadow palette, but I’m afraid I went a bit wild and mixed quite a few of them together! This eye look could easily be recreated with any hot pink colours, and a red or brown to darken the crease. I used a shimmery gold/pink for the front half of my eye, and layered some white glitter on top!
Another colour that goes great with pink is orange, and I love wearing those two together! However I had a video interview this day, so I thought that maybe pink and orange would be too bold of a look for that (depending on what you’re interviewing for, of course!).
Along with a pink blush, and either a pink nude or rosey tinted lipstick, this look is perfect for everyday (if you’re a bit more extra) or a great night out! Pink wasn’t something I ever used to wear – partially because I was told it didn’t suit my red hair, and partially because it wasn’t a colour I’d ever see myself wearing. Now I think it’s gorgeous against red hair, and such a lovely colour to bring a bit of fun to an otherwise simple outfit/look.
Now onto the star of this look! These gorgeous lashes by Unicorn Cosmetics, stocked on FalseEyelashes.co.uk. They have tons of brands that sell fake eyelashes, as well as mascara, brow products and lash accessories! I was also kindly gifted some eyelash glue, and these AMAZING curved eyelash applicators. Applying eyelashes are hard enough as it is, but these made it so much easier to hold them in place and in shape. I would highly recommend them to make your applications a hell of a lot easier!
False eyelashes turn any beautiful look into something stunning. You can go natural, or full bodied, depending on your desired look. I’m so happy with these fuller pairs, they will be perfect for nights out!
And I’m loving the packaging from Unicorn Cosmetics! It’s so cute and colourful. And instead of sitting on a bit of flimsy plastic, the eyelashes actually come in a hard plastic box. The perfect size to fit in your handbag so when those eyelashes come off at the end of the night, they’re not floating around in your bag getting mangled and mishapen.
I hope you liked my pink glittery makeup look, and check out FalseEyelashes.co.uk for your next interview or night out! I love my ones by Unicorn Cosmetics and I can’t wait to wear them again. I’m going to have to find a night out to tag along on!
