I don’t think any blogger can enter a new season without writing about another of their (many) candle hauls. I’m proud to tell you guys that I’m no different! Today, I’ll be taking you through my recent Autumn candle haul.
I say recent – it was maybe over a month ago now. Time has flown by so fast now I’m back at uni, and even though I haven’t been finding much time for blogging recently, I have been finding the time to focus on me and my mental health. Whether that’s making sure to put the time aside for a bath every week, spending time with my mum, or cuddling up in front of the TV watching Bake Off. All of these things have one key thing in common – candles. Are you even relaxed if you aren’t burning a candle?
Warm, sweet and spicy scents are my favourite, so when autumn and winter come around I get very excited for candles. It doesn’t feel the same burning certain scents in spring when it’s warm and sunny outside. Sometimes, certain scents need a certain cold, drab atmosphere! Here are some I picked up last month in preparation for the cold weather.
These two are from Sarah’s Little Attic on Etsy. I love this candle shop, and I’m already eyeing up their Christmas scents! The candles themselves smells so delicious, and burn for ages. You really are getting your money’s worth while also supporting an independent shop, which is great!
The Cinnamon and Vanilla candle is a very classic, spiced vanilla scent. It’s more sweet than spiced, though – the vanilla definitely comes through more than the cinnamon. I’m still really loving this, but I wouldn’t recommend it unless you also like quite sweet scents.
Gran’s Pumpkin Pie is to die for! My mum and my cousin are actually burning this candle even when I’m not in (how rude). I don’t blame them, though – it’s my favourite candle by far from this entire haul. Plus, the packaging is adorable! It reminds me of a jar my Nana used to have in her cabinet, filled with pebbles. It really adds something special to the candle.
This cute candle is from Pret-A-Geek. I’ve seen their geeky candles around before, but I finally plucked up the courage to buy one. Of course I went for the Buttered Beer candle, based on the drink Butterbeer from Harry Potter. (Massive HP geek, right here.)
It comes in such a cute pot, and smells lovely! It’s very vanilla-based again, but not as sweet as the first one. I’m definitely going to have a look at what other geeky candles they have!
These melts are from Sarah’s Little Attic, again! I’ve never used melts until now, and I’m so excited by them. They come in really cute, spooky molds – perfect to get into the Halloween spirit! (Also – HAPPY HALLOWEEN!)
The pumpkin melt is pumpkin pie scented (I just can’t stay away), and the skull melt is spiced apple. The spiced apple is really nice, and not usually a scent I would’ve gone for before. I am loving it though, and would happily purchase it again!
The last candle was a gift from Scents Unusual*. It is a bit different from the usual spiced/sweet scents I would go for in autumn, but I think it is very interesting! I was sent the Cuban Tobacco and Oak candle, alongside a reed diffuser in the same scent. It’s very clean, and the only way I can think of describing this is – it’s smells like a man. You know that clean man, fresh-out-the-shower smell? It’s one of those, with a little more depth to it – like he has just put on his smoky aftershave and is ready for a night out.
While some people like to change to spicier, deeper scents in the colder months, I know a lot of people still like to cling to cleaner scents. If this is you, this candle would be perfect!
That’s all I have for my autumn candle haul! Thank you for reading, and I hope you enjoyed it. I have no doubt that I will start buying Christmas scents very soon, so stay tuned for that blog post!
What was your favourite candle in my collection? Let me know in the comments!
Until next time,
