Hi guys, and welcome back to my August Birchbox review! Sorry that this one has been uploaded later than usual, I’ve been so busy with work this month. Next month, it will definitely be earlier on – and I’m so excited for next month’s box as it comes with a cute Benefit blush sample!
If you’re interested in trying out Birchbox next month and receiving this gorgeous Benefit blusher, you can use my link (here) to get £5 off your first box! I’ll get an extra sample as a gift if you do use my link, so we both get to Benefit (get it?) from this deal.
Now, onto my review! I’m quite happy with this month’s box – I only have a few concerns. But we will get into those as we go.
Let’s start with the one I’m most excited about! Rituals is such a great brand, and I’m so excited by this Happy Budha Foaming Shower Gel. It’s a decent sample size, and smells amazing. The scent is sweet orange and cedar wood, and I think it would be brilliant for that transition into the autumn months.
I have loads of shower gel samples but I’m always happy to receive more. They’re great for taking away on holiday with you, but also if you’ve ran out of shower gel to carry you on before you do your next food shop!
Next up we have this Number 4 Sugar Spray. I’ve received a Number 4 Smooth Balm before in my June Birchbox. It’s always nice to sample products from different brands, but I’m happy receiving from this brand, again. Since I love to wear my hair in waves and curls, I’m glad I got this as one of my products this month!
This product is the one that we get to choose the colour of every month. It’s the Dirty Little Secret Eye Shadow Crayon, and I picked the colour Fetch. It’s a lovely rose gold colour, and the consistency of the crayon is very light and creamy.
I’ve only swatched this so far, but I think it would be great all over the lid for a subtle, day-time look. I can’t wait to try this out further!
Now this is one that I was most intrigued by when I got the box, but I’m not too impressed by it so far. It’s the CLE Cosmetics Melting Lip Powder in Blushing Peach. I thought that a powder that turns into a lip tint would be really cool, and I still love the idea of it, but I can’t tell if I like it or not yet. I think it’s one of those products you have to try out a couple of times before you make your decision.
My one top tip for this product would be to scrub your lips beforehand as I found it clings to any dryness on your lips! Like I said, I still need to try this one out more, but I can say I love the colour. It is a very orangey-peach colour, and would look lovely in the summer.
This last product I am also very excited by. It’s the Dr. Botanicals Pomegranate Superfood Regenerating Sleeping Mask. It’s also (even though it doesn’t look it) full size! The packaging is super cute and simple, too.
I’ve tried out one of the overnight masks from The Body Shop before, and my skin feels so soft when I wake up, so I’m very excited to try this one. I also think it has a very lovely, subtle smell – however, I could be wrong as I’m just coming back from having a cold right now. My nose could definitely be playing tricks on me, but I’m 90% positive it smells good.
The Box Itself
Also, if you haven’t already noticed, in the background of all of my photos is the wonderfully designed Birchbox box! This month, Birchbox worked together with Etsy designers to create different styles for their boxes. The one I got was designed by The Fox in the Attic, and it’s a really gorgeous sweets design – thank you so much!
I think it’s very lovely that Birchbox decided to work with Etsy shops/designers this month. It’s so great to give some love to the smaller, independent creators!
Thank you so much for reading my August Birchbox review! I hope you enjoyed this post, and remember, here’s my link if you’d like to get your hands on some Birchbox goodies next month.
What was your favourite product in this month’s box? Have you tried any of them before?
